Readers, I was here in the midst of my struggle for earning my daily bread. Life has started demanding more and I have decided to give it my best. A few lines of a favorite Bollywood number just cross my mind…
Zindagi …kaisi hai paheli hai,
Kabhi ye hasaaye …. kabhi ye rulaaye ….
By the way I was doing the duties of a responsible family man. My builder is running the last mile to complete the construction of my own flat in Bangalore. If you guys noticed some over attachment to the word own it is not incidental, it is implied. So far, the promised date of delivery has consistently beaten my poor builder and he has consistently played “Tom & Jerry” with me (don’t worry , I was Tom !!!) . I am desperate to get into my own house and stop paying rent. But before that there are a few realities of life that i must go through. One of them was getting my flat registered. That I did successfully yesterday. The other tough part is to find an interior designer who will make the best design for my flat’s interiors and will not charge me the cost of another flat. We started our interior designer hunt with the kitchen makers. My Wife likes Venita Cucina , she probably wants me to spend only for the kitchen. I told her that I will be glad to eat food made in a non-Italian style kitchen. With that kind of money I can make interiors for the whole house and still save enough for the linen.
Anyway I think she got the message , now i can peacefully pass the showrooms of Venita Cucina, Kitchen world, Signature Kitchen and the like without having to turn my eyes and attention in another direction. Here I played Jerry , and quite successfully.
This weekend also we made trips to the showrooms of a few interior designers. One of them seems to fall within my tolerance range, now my task is to like one of the designs he can offer. I will make a couple of compromises to my taste and hope that he will not make any compromise on the quality.
Work does not stop there, I have to buy electrical equipments, kitchen accessories, some home appliances that i avoided buying so far citing reasons of imminent transfer to our new home in the future. My wife has been really good that she understands all the hints, probably she knows that I will oblige sooner or later.
The next couple of months will be gone in the hustle bustle of making my house ready to occupy.
I just remembered a quote from Hubbard “Life is just one damned thing after another”.
